The propane business began in Danvers 75 years ago, but not at this site, he said.

Kimball Memorials, a monument business on Water Street, also suffered damage, as did a family home next door, according to Greg Moore, co-owner of a business that is more than 150 years old and has been located at this site since 1931.

Windows were blown out at the North Shore Association of Realtors, 105 Water St.

A fence company and a business that supplies gas for barbecues are located on Water Street close to the blast site. However, both businesses are closed, according to town officials, and the site is being eyed as the future home of a Dunkin' Donuts.

Several other small businesses are located in the area.
